Chicken lay fewer eggs, the dogs are not out as often and we lay around a bit more. Today ,for instance, I got up around 7am (that is sleeping in for me) I decorated the tree, took the dogs out and did some laundry. Looked up and it was 11am. Hamish is still with us...although last week was not good. Some special food and a bland diet he perked right back up. Christmas tree done for the moment Max....yes that is his tongue.

Here we are at the final week of November.  Inside prepping for Thanksgiving. Turkey is defrosting and the lists are ready for the last items to be picked up on my way home Wednesday night. I am still fighting this crazy sinus infection....it is almost gone. Outside there are still leaves that need raking and things to be picked up. Last weekend we had a 15 hour power outage. A generator and plenty of wood thanks to Bill and light from candles and lanterns. Tonight a beautiful  pink sunset......these pictures cannot do it justice really!

Gardening is DONE..... with the exception of a few cabbage which will most likely be chicken food we are done. Bill has been canning up a storm. and I will be doing applesauce in the crock pot today.

Bill got a new chainsaw this year....a nice little Husky!

Wood is as high as an elephants eye! Most of this years wood was from the property.

Last night we had the first fire of the fall. it has been getting down into the 40's at night this past week so we know Autumn is on its way. Today I went out and dug up carrots and potatos . I also pulled up lettuce that has bolted for the chickens.  Checked my hanging pots......it has not gotten below freezing yet so they are still doing OK. I had mushrooms still going from all the recent rain! I picked a couple of my pumpkins because the deer did get some of the squash. the last bit of the summer flowers including sweet peas I did do much better on the potatos this year!

Tomatoes everywhere you look today and 54 degrees outside makes it easier to stay in and can chili sauce.

This random mix is my best spot this year....four o clocks, marigolds, zinnia and phlox.

This Stump has been disintregrating over the past ten years....this year it has become a mushroom stump. There are at least 30 mushrooms.

More to pick soon and I feel Zuchini Fries are on the way! We are averaging 4 eggs a day from 5 chickens even through the heat of the summer. Zinnias Cinderella pumpkins Holy cabbage Blue Hubbard We still have sweet peas
